Automatically creates a chamfer cutterpath on your part, whether the chamfer is designed in or not. This cutterpath takes the shape and size of the tool into consideration and automatically avoids collisions with part bodies and corners.
If you have text or special shapes designed into your part, then you can use the new engraving cutterpath to mill it. This cutterpath supports the use of a chamfer tool to clean out designed-in shapes and features.

High Quality Finished Parts
Autodesk CAM’s 5-axis Contour and 5-Axis Swarf multi-axis milling strategies and 5-axis-tilt support for 3D Contour help users leverage the latest in 5-axis machining center technology to produce more complex parts, reduce setups, and superior surface finish. Improved 3D simulation capabilities with richer visualization, including support for multi-axis parts, help users verify the machining process before CNC programs are run on the machine. Highly customizable post-processors and a powerful CNC editor further enable users to tailor their programs to their CNC machine.
Inventor HSM Pro uses a Distributed CAM server that enables users to respond even faster to design changes, by automatically utilizing idle PCs on the local network to reduce toolpath calculation time. Distributed CAM is automatically used by Inventor HSM when installed on selected PCs and requires no additional setup or interaction from the user.
Tool information can be specified directly using the Inventor tool library or imported from 3rd party tool databases. Production documents, including a tool list, are automatically generated and can be exported in a number of different formats including HTML, XML, Excel and Word documents.
Inventor HSM features all the traditional turning toolpaths, including facing, roughing, grooving, threading, drilling and profiling. For drilling and hole making, choose between pre-programmed machining cycles and canned cycles, or use a combination of both. Inventor HSM supports programming twin-turret and twin-spindle lathes using all of the traditional turning operations. Mill/Turn operations are supported when combined with the 2D or 3D milling option.
